I want to find out details about:
Weekly Classes
Workshops
Private Lessons
Wedding Lessons
Where to go Dancing
Contact Brooklyn Swings
What SHOES should I wear?
Recommended: Keds, 'kicks,' low tread sneakers
Not recommended: flip flops, high heels, heavy boots or Uggs.
What CLOTHES should I wear?
Something you can move in. Most people come from work, so you'll see a lot of business casual or stylish casual (cause it's Brooklyn). We don't recommend work out clothes, only cause you'll stand out, but if that's the goal... =)
I SWEAT a lot, what should I do?
First wear a deodorant and bring one with you to freshen up but the most common solution people do is bring extra shirts to change into. T-shirts or long sleeved depending your sweat level or some people swear by wearing an outer layer/shell that stays dry while their inner layers get all the sweat, this commonly happens with suit jackets. Above all remember everyone sweats, EVERYONE, the only thing we're trying to avoid is being wet when our partner touches us.
Where can I go dancing?
Brooklyn Swings does a monthly Swing dance in Bushwick, BK info here Positively Swingin'
Brooklyn Swings does a monthly Meet Up Blues Dance in Manhattan info here Terra Blues
Otherwise check out ThisWeekinSwingNYC.com to find Swing/Blues dances all over NYC
